HOW I WORK.

Building a solid relationship based on trust and mutual respect is at the core of my therapy practice. As we get to know one-another, we will create treatment goals and a treatment plan together, as well as a rough timeline for your treatment. This creates an expectation of what therapy might look like and how long you might want to continue. All of this is subject to change based on your needs.

I am an expert in mediating conversations between kids and parents, and making hard conversations less painful and more authentic for all voices. Parents are the most important partner in their child’s treatment, and I value their expertise when it comes to working with their child.

I specialize in providing CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), which helps you to identify your thought patterns and how your feelings and behaviors might be affecting your negative thoughts. If this doesn’t work for you, we will find something that does. I fully believe in a mind-body connection, and sometimes when we move our bodies or change our environment, our brain can change too. For trauma therapy, we might use art or narrative storytelling in addition to CBT to help you better understand the thing that happened to you. If you are interested in medication, I will refer you to a psychiatrist who specializes in adolescents and help monitor your symptoms as you explore this option. I am a holistic practitioner, which means I like to look at every aspect of your life in order to find different and dynamic solutions.

Bottom line: we’re gonna figure this thing out - together.
